Something is up with detecting settings for sure since sometimes there is no error even though it lists it as an error. Occasionally, the consoles would say something like 'Switch this value to on to fix error' and upon checking the console with the relevant setting we noticed it was already set to the correct value but was still throwing an error. Still took three attempts, but it's an issue for me that guessing was the most successful strategy we tried. Took another three stabs at it, and we only succeeded because the captain started guessing based on the first two digits of numbers. Maybe we just missed the signs, that's possible, but figuring out which console we were supposed to go to was too much of a pain so we had to settle with a crew member at each console and check every screen for every value mentioned.Īnd I still feel like the captains matching puzzle is a bit much. Like just a sign above the console that says 'Security Console' or some such would be a huge help. One thing I really feel strongly about, in terms of changes, is there needs to be clearer signage about which consoles are located where. We did eventually figure out that the upper right listings on the screen were more helpful, and we figured out the screen repair angle just about instantly on the final puzzle so great success on those bits. The rate of new errors is dependent on how many human players are present, but we can also look into tweaking this value, since it may scale too quickly. We can look into slowing this down however. We can certainly look into making this both clearer and easier, especially in regards to the size of the font.Īs for the containment screen, the pertinent information is displayed in the top right of the screen and that shouldn’t scroll, the rest of the screen is mostly flavor text and repeating what’s in that corner. Which is probably what Wenchbane was noticing, I believe that the 50% progress were the bots fulfilling their side of the task. Half of the calibration’s progress is also tied to making sure the screens are working properly. Every handful of screens that are fixed actually help the captain by removing incorrect numbers from the pool, which can help the captain find the correct pair faster. This probably needs to be clearer, but fixing screens on that central station can help the captain complete their objective. It's worth mentioning that the neural link calibration shouldn't increase passively, what’s likely happening is that the bots are helping by fixing the screens. Thanks for the feedback, we really appreciate this kind of stuff. The consoles need more time before a reset, the scroll needs to be slower, and the number matching needs.something. While interesting, I think it needs to be tweaked to be a bit easier. It is interesting and all, but the difficulty is quite different from anything else in the game. I play at 1280x720 and I shudder to think what it would be like if I were on a higher resolution. Makes it way harder, and it's already pretty hard. Not one person in our crew was able to solve it in time, and our bar never went up passively so maybe we were doing something wrong.Īlso, the numbers in the matching portion aren't always super visible and are a bit too small in my opinion. Not saying it's impossible, but we shouldn't need a Mensa candidate to solve the number matching in the time given. There is some leeway, but not much, and it's a huge pain to match them exactly and in some cases it's literally impossible to do so.Īs for the number matching the captain does in the chair, that's just the worst ever. Also, some of the settings require more fine control of the control sliders than what is actually possible with the player controls. The instruction screen scrolls too fast, and changes each time it resets which makes it a PITA. I thought the console puzzles were a bit much personally.
